By the year 2020, it will account for one-third of all the deaths in the country. There is an estimate of 45 million patients with Coronary Artery Disease in India. With an increasing number of young Indians hooked to roller-coaster lifestyle and falling prey to coronary artery disease, the future looks even grimmer.

ADVANCED CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT
Advanced cardiac life support or advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) refers to a set of clinical interventions for the urgent treatment of cardiac arrest, stroke and other life-threatening medical emergencies, as well as the knowledge and skills to deploy those interventions. In the UK, a parallel protocol (advanced life support) is used.
Healthcare professionals who respond to cardiovascular emergencies in and out of the hospital enhance their treatment knowledge and skills through the AHA’s ACLS training courses. This course emphasizes the importance of basic life support (BLS), integration of effective BLS with ACLS interventions, and effective team interaction and communication during resuscitation.
Duration of the Course is 2 days (6hrs+6hrs)
There will be a written and skill assessment exam that will be conducted at the end of the course. On successful completion of the course the participants will be given the AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificate valid internationally for two years.

BASIC LIFE SUPPORT
Basic life support (BLS) is a level of medical care which is used for victims of life-threatening illnesses or injuries until they can be given full medical care at a hospital. It can be provided by trained medical personnel, including emergency medical technicians, paramedics, and by qualified bystanders.
Duration of the Course is 1 day (6 hours)
There will be a written and skill assessment exam that will be conducted at the end of the course. On successful completion of the course the participants will be given the AHA Basic Life Support certificate valid internationally for two years.
In this classroom-based course, healthcare professionals learn to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR to victims of all ages, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.
